Li-Qing Chen
Dr. Li-Qing Chen earned her Ph.D. from China Agricultural University, where she studied plant responses to low potassium deficiency. In 2007, she joined Dr. Wolf Frommer’s lab at the Carnegie Institution for Science as a postdoctoral researcher, focusing on sugar transport in plants. In late 2015, Dr. Chen established her independent lab in the Department of Plant Biology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign as an assistant professor and was later promoted. Her research continues to focus on the control and regulation of sugar transport. She has also expanded her interests to include increasing biofuel production through engineering sugar flux and improving biomass by enhancing nutrient use efficiency.
