Crystal Sweetman
My primary research interest is plant environmental stress tolerance in the context of food security and sustainability, with a focus on oxidative stress and mitochondrial respiration. Prior to my current role as Lecturer in Plant Biotechnology at Flinders University (2022-current), I held post-doctoral research positions at Flinders (2014-2021) and The University of Adelaide (2010-2014). Research projects have focussed the alternative pathway components of the plant mitochondrial electron transport chain as targets for improving tolerance of environmental stress in model plants and crops, as well as the control of grape berry acidity in a changing climate.
