Sneh Pareek
Sneh Lata Singla-Pareek obtained her PhD at the University of Delhi in 1997, where she studied plant response to high temperature stress. She pursued her postdoctoral research at the University of North Carolina, Cornell University and UC Davis, focussing on various mechanisms of abiotic stress tolerance. Dr Sneh is working as a Group Leader and Senior Scientist leading the Plant Stress Biology group at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), New Delhi. She has 30 years’ experience in “stress molecular biology” focussing on understanding the response of plants towards various abiotic stresses and how these responses can be fine-tuned to help plants cope with the dynamic climate shifts. Her team has contributed to the development of stress-resilient crop varieties with higher yield using multiple approaches, including genetic engineering and genome editing.
