Yuzhou Wu
Dr Yuzhou (Thomas) Wu is a Research Fellow at Monash Suzhou Research Institute and an Adjunct Lecturer at Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute, Monash University. Dr Wu obtained his degree of PhD in Biological Sciences in 2017 from the University of Newcastle, where he studied plant transfer cell biology with a special focus on the identification of transcription factors involved in coordinating deposition of the wall ingrowth network. Later in 2018, Dr Wu moved to the University of Sydney as a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on plant developmental biology, especially to understand how plant genes involved in leaf dorsoventrality regulate leaf positioning, morphogenesis and cell type patterning, before he joined Monash University in early 2023 as an independent PI. Dr Wu’s research interest is focused on identifying general principles by comparing development across different kingdoms, and ultimately providing information that could contribute to the global challenges of many kinds.
