Xiaoyu Liu
Graduated from Zhejiang University with a master's degree. She has published articles as the first author in Environmental Science and Technology and Nature Microbiology journals. Her master's degree mainly studies the interaction between microorganisms and crops and the defense and treatment of rice smut disease. She is currently studying for her PhD at the University of Western Australia, major in using the techniques of bioorthogonal noncanonical amino acid tagging (BONCAT) and click-chemistry to tag and enrich nascent proteins of plants. This project will be focused on linking enzyme turnover rate and function. It will track age, activity and protein modification state for selected enzymes that are important for crop productivity.
