Tzyy-Jen Chiou
Tzyy-Jen Chiou’s laboratory studies the acquisition and utilization of mineral nutrients with emphasis on sensing, signaling and gene regulation in response to phosphorous availability. Her research has highlighted the importance of miRNA-mediated regulation in phosphate acquisition, translocation and storage. She is also interested in understanding how plants communicate and coordinate long-distance to exert appropriate responses to adapt to environmental changes in nutrients.
