Michael Taleski
Dr Michael Taleski is a molecular and developmental biologist at the Australian National University (ANU) where he undertook his PhD and is now a Postdoctoral Fellow. His work combines molecular and physiological techniques to dissect local and long-distance hormone pathways underpinning plant responses to resource availability. This has shed light on peptide hormone receptor function in diverse processes from root system architecture (RSA) to reproductive development. Currently, his research focuses on the translation of gene functional knowledge from Arabidopsis in order to engineer RSA diversity, with the ultimate goal of generating fit-for-purpose crops with better nutrient use efficiency and performance under future climates.
