As an Associate Professor in the College of Agronomy and Biotechnology at China Agricultural University in Beijing, Dr Ma is dedicated to unraveling the intricate molecular mechanisms that govern maize endosperm development and protein quality trait.
His academic journey began with a Ph.D. from the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010. Following that, He pursued postdoctoral training at the National Institute of Biological Sciences (2011-2013), where He studied components involved in the RNA-directed DNA methylation pathway in the model plant Arabidopsis. Subsequently, Dr Ma conducted postdoctoral research at Texas A&M University (2013-2019), investigating the intricate mechanisms of RNA silencing. These experiences equipped him with a wealth of expertise in genetic, molecular, biochemical, and bioinformatic techniques.
Dr Ma have been privileged to contribute to the scientific community through publications exploring epigenetic regulation, RNA silencing, and maize endosperm development. Currently, his work aims to elucidate the molecular processes that shape the development and characteristics of maize seeds, with the ultimate goal of enhancing agricultural productivity and food security.
