Originating from the vibrant city of Malaga in southern Spain, my academic journey in biochemistry has been marked by a profound fascination with plant research. This passion emerged early on, prompting me to initiate diverse projects at IHSM (Institute of Subtropical and Mediterranean Horticulture), focusing on the intricate interplay between viruses and plants, particularly in the context of tomato viruses. Expanding upon this experience, I pursued advanced studies in plant biotechnology at IBMCP (Institute of Molecular and Cellular Plant Biology) in Valencia, where my research delved into the comprehensive characterization of processes governing the transport of melon viral proteins across diverse hosts.
Currently immersed in my fourth-year as a Ph.D. candidate at CRAG (Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics) in Barcelona, focusing my research lies in characterizing proteins associated with gene silencing in Arabidopsis. This endeavor involves a thorough exploration into unraveling the complexities of their cellular localization, investigating potential post-translational modifications, and discerning their broader implications in various cellular processes.
