Pradeep Pant
I, Dr Pradeep Pant, have recently joined Bennett University, India, as an assistant professor. My primary motivation behind attending IPMB2024 is to address the pressing issue of hunger by targeting plant viruses, which is a significant challenge within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I am deeply committed to finding innovative solutions to this problem. Specifically, my focus lies in combating hunger by designing aptamers targeting plant viruses. These viruses pose a substantial threat to crop yields and food security, making them a critical target for intervention. As a relatively new assistant professor in India, this meeting holds great importance in advancing my career and fulfilling my mission to contribute to global food security. I believe that addressing complex global challenges such as hunger requires collaborative efforts. By participating in this meeting, I aim to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations who share my passion for finding solutions. These connections can open doors to valuable collaborations and the exchange of knowledge, resources, and expertise. While my expertise lies in state-of-the-art computational predictions, I recognize the need to validate these predictions through experimentation. Attending this meeting will enable me to identify potential experimental collaborators who can help translate my computational models into real-world solutions. In addition, I am excited to bring novel and cutting-edge approaches to surmount crop protection problems. My computational models are at the forefront of technology, and I am eager to share my findings and insights with fellow attendees. Through this exchange, I hope to inspire innovative thinking and contribute to the collective efforts to address global hunger via crop protection.
