Xiaodong Xu, Professor of biological sciences in Henan university.
She received the Ph.D. in cell biology from Hebei Normal University in 2002, studying cell signaling transduction. She then completed the postdoc at Vanderbilt University (Carl H. Johnson's lab, 2002-2006) where she investigated the clock modulation of cytosolic free calcium 24-h oscillations in Arabidopsis. In 2006-2010, she was employed by Dartmouth College (C. Robertson McClung's lab) and analyzed the circadian gene expression in Brassica rapa. In 2010, she set up her own laboratory and found that LNK1,2 and BBXs proteins are involved in the TTFLs of circadian clock as morning-phased dynamic transcriptional complexes. In recent years, her laboratory discovered the role of circadian gene in agronomic traits of crops, including flowering time and drought stress responses.
