Native plant resources are protecting by advanced biotechnological procedures while releasing the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework against overexploitation, endangerment and endemic species protection. Plant biotechnology is one of the sustainably phytochemicals production techniques in the form of secondary metabolites while serve as health-promoting functional, flavoring and industrial chemicals. The novel compounds production from cell, tissue and organ cultures in aseptic conditions are an excellent targeted source over their conventional field-grown cultivation, including economic manufacture and constant quality for phytochemical. Our project was conducted with Jeju native plant cell lines to characterize the culture medium and bioactive compounds production for scale-up in air-lift bioreactor. We analyzed the dry mass yield arrange from 10 to 17% (4-8 weeks culture time) with continuous high growth and uniformed accumulation of sustainable biomass supply. The intensive search for bioactive natural compounds, catechin hydrate and hesperidin accumulation were enriched by 55 to 168% with anti-wrinkle activity (elastase and MMP-1 reduction) to be achieved by elicitation of methyl jasmonate. In line with applied tendency, we confirmed cosmetic phytochemicals from plant cell line extracts by clinical trials of wrinkle improvement and moisturizing to identify further possibility for pharmacologically active compounds. The stable accumulation of achieved biomass and bioactive compounds is able to employ the sustainable biosynthesis platform to protect Jeju natural plant resources. We are also going to get the standardization method from Jeju native plant cell line for leading powerful tool of phytochemical ingredient values with further industrial study.
